Garth is a character from the CW's Supernatural. He appeared in 6 episodes across series 7, 8, 9, 14 and 15.
He was portrayed by DJ Qualls.
Across the entirety of Supernatural, Garth is one of very few characters to be an instant favourite.
He's incredibly charming and happy and chilled out! He's an incredibly good constrast to every other hunter you meet in this show by virtue of just being a happy guy!
Hunters have that reputation of being kinda miserable and brooding (Dean...) and Garth takes that and chucks it out the window by being super charming and laid-back with it all. He takes his craft seriously but not too seriously if you get me.
I love that he's sort of bad at being a hunter. The first two episodes you he's in have the gag that he gets knocked out by whatever they're fighting and misses the final showdown, and I can't lie, it's incredibly entertaining!
I also love that he gets an actually decent ending. Supernatural is notoreous for giving their characters (especially fan favourites) really shitty endings to their stories. Garth manages to dodge all of that, and ends up semi-retired with a wife, kids and a dental practice. It's all very sweet and I can't imagine any other character slotting into this role as well as he did.
And even though he's retired, he's still willing to help Sam and Dean out. He's incredibly reliable, sort of like a rock. A cuddly rock.
He's also a hugger, and it's very cute :3
